Wendy Whewell is Head of Environmental, Social and Government (ESG) & Climate Change in Santander UK’s Corporate and Commercial Banking business and is responsible for developing strategy, products/propositions and solutions along with education and awareness to support the bank’s business clients in creating and driving a sustainable strategy to net-zero.
Wendy’s focus is ensuring that she supports the bank’s ambition to be a sustainable and responsible bank through the delivery of our 3 key pillars Thriving Workplace, Better Communities and Healthy Environment to ensure that we provide a just transition.
Her career has encompassed working across the many sectors that make up UK plc along with internal roles within Corporate Banking, with latter roles including funding the renewable sector.
Including being heavily involved in driving forward Corporate Social Responsibility projects and charity causes.
Wendy is a Climate Safe Lending Network Fellow, Green &Sustainable Finance Professional and holds a BA(Hons) and ACIB.
