Graham Hillier currently leads the Foundation Industries Sustainability Consortium which is delivering the EconoMISER programme for Innovate UK.

He has had a wide-ranging business career in technology development, innovation and strategy development. He worked at a senior level in aerospace materials, chemicals, steel and construction. He has had a long-term link to low carbon resource efficient sustainable manufacturing having been the Planning Director responsible for a major integrated petrochemical system and leading a global programme in the development of sustainable buildings. Until recently he was the Director of Strategy and Futures at the Centre for Process Innovation and was the first CTO of the UK’s High Value Manufacturing Catapult. He is currently Entrepreneur in Residence at Northumbria University and non-executive director at Thomas Swan.

Graham has a Degree in Metallurgy, PhD from the University of Cambridge and an MBA. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
